Professional Cleaning Companies Are They A Cost Cutting Item?

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

At this time a lot of business are tightening their belt to get through the credit crunch. Budgets are being squeezed all the time. What type of savings can we make?

One option being considered is to end the contract with the professional office cleaning in Aberdeen and do it all in-house using existing office staff. But does that actually save money in- practice?

Apart from the negative effect it would have on staff moral are there any other implications of going down this route?

One of the things you will need to consider is the need to go out and buy on a regular basis a variety of cleaning chemicals and other equipment dependant of the type of jobs being done. Who is going to take responsibility for going out to buy more cleaning products when levels run low or are all used up? This is a cost implication for time spent and time not doing their normal job! All professional cleaning service in Aberdeen will have their own preferred cleaning chemicals which their staff will have trained in using. This means they will have access to all associated safety data sheets etc from their usual chemical supplier.

If you are not going to hire an extra person to do the work then it is likely you will be utilising one of your existing admin staff members taking them away from their regular duties. This could have an extra cost effect on your business if their normal work is not being done effectively and on time.

If that person is not proficient on cleaning duties it will need to be done again an added expense and once again your office staff would not be using their skills and training in your business.

In addition the potential for damage to your office interiors increases as the person does not understand the use of some materials and the surfaces being cleaned. I recall going into one office complex and seeing that the cleaner (also employed as a book-keeper) had squirted some strong bleach on a floor and it had burnt the floor almost beyond economic repair. Are you aware of the dangers of mixing cleaning chemicals (even household strength cleaning products)? Did you know mixing some toilet cleaners together can give off poisonous Chlorine gas?

• Have you all the skills in house to develop all the health and safety guidance in-house? Or will you to pay to outsource it?
• Who would do the required risk assessment for each and every cleaning task being performed? Not Necessary… just wait and see what the Health and Safety Inspector has to say after an accident on your premises!
• Do you have copies of the COSHH data sheets for every single cleaning product your staff purchase in the event of an incident? Your local superstore will not supply them for the general household products they sell!| Can you be certain that you have the required COSSH safety data sheets for every single cleaning product your staff purchase? Your local supermarket or corner store will not be able to supply these legal documents and you will need them on site in case of an safety incident.}

If the choice was down to me as an office manager I would be asking myself the following questions

• ” Will I lose more money by taking staff away from the main business focus than I pay to use a professional cleaning company”

• ” What are the currently unbudgeted costs I will need to add on to cover for time spent cleaning the office twice, additional costs for repairs due to mistakes, increased insurance premiums and cost of compensation for breaches of health and safety including accidents to staff? ”

Personally I would come to the conclusion in most places that it would be better to hire a professional cleaning company in Coatbridge rather than take the risk of letting untrained people make mistakes. I believe it works out cheaper that way in the longer term.

The Benefits Of Organic Carpet Cleaning NYC

In today’s world we are becoming more aware of how the products we use effect us and the environment. The term “Going Green” has become a household phrase not only to help preserve the environment, but to ensure the products we use are safe for us and our well being. One area that most people overlook in regards to going green and how it effects your health is when they have their carpets cleaned. Having your carpets cleaned is important to the upkeep of your home, especially if you have children, pets or allergies, however choosing the right kind of carpet cleaning is crucial.

Most people do not realize that traditional carpet cleaners use a lot of chemicals. These chemicals emit fumes into the air and stay embedded in your carpet, even after they have dried. If you have pets or children that lay or crawl on your carpets, they are being exposed to these chemicals every time. Going with a carpet cleaning company that uses organic cleaning will eliminate this concern.

There are many benefits to organic carpet cleaning New York other than the use of no chemicals. When you choose to have your carpets steam cleaned you are left with a long drying process ranging from 24 to 48 hours. This can be a great inconvenience if you have a busy household like most do. Steam cleaning also produces a soap residue that is left in your carpets and will lead to soap scum and chemicals that remain in your carpet. With organic cleaning you eliminate the chemicals and soap and your dry time is greatly reduced to a 3 to 4 hour window, which means you can get back to life as normal in your home. With the quick dry time of organic cleaning you also eliminate any concern of mold in your carpet, unlike with steam cleaning which saturates your carpet pad and if it does not dry properly can produce mold.

The next time you need to have your carpets cleaned, make sure to call an organic carpet cleaning company. It will not only help you do your part for the environment by reducing the amount of chemicals and pollutants used, but it is also safe for you, your family and your pets. You will receive better results and your carpets will stay cleaner for a lot longer than with steam cleaning.

A Carpet Cleaning Business Plan Leads to Profits

Monday, November 9th, 2009

A carpet cleaning business plan makes good sense for anyone just starting in this competitive business. Carpet cleaning can be a very profitable home business if you have a good business plan. Your overall financial investment is relatively small if you have a proven carpet cleaning business plan. The worse thing a new business owner can do is seeking advice from equipment sales peoplewhen buying cleaning tools and equipment. They will be eager to sell you their high ticket products since they all work on commission.

A much smarter way to proceed is to carefully study the carpet cleaning business and decide upon the type of carpet cleaning you would like to focus on. If careful, you can purchase only the tools you will actually use and you will be able to locate the best sources of all your equipment and cleaning chemicals. In the past few years, floor care equipment has improved greatly. The key to keeping your expenses under control is knowing what new technology really works and what tools you’ll never use. You can either spend hundreds of hours researching all this on your own or find someone in the industry you can trust. Your goal should be to find a carpet cleaning business plan to guide you through the decision making process.

The successful carpet cleaner must learn to perform the trade of carpet cleaning first. I’ve seen many franchise owners brag about how many jobs they complete in a day. But the goal is to be profitable and not just busy. In many cases these are the same guys who never get called back for another job. Use the wrong equipment and you might be fast but you might find the customer calls another carpet cleaner next month to re-clean their carpets. This is one business where you can really be successful if you focus on the trade of cleaning.

The internet can be a great source of help with researching the carpet cleaning business opportunity. There are many good web sites for learning about the different styles of carpet cleaning as well as many places where the very best carpet cleaning equipment can be purchased at reasonable prices. But to be profitable and successful, use a good carpet cleaning business plan to save time and money.
