Should I bother to use a reverse cell phone service on a nuisance phone call?
Monday, September 7th, 2009A difficult question and one that you really have to answer on your own, but how badly do you need to know who is trying to harass you?
If you have been receiving nuisance phone calls then you can just report them to the police and they will take it from there. If you trust them to pursue it then that should be the matter finished. Of course if you really want to make sure the appropriate action is taken then you need to get in contact with their service provider. The service provider will be interested that one of their customers is behaving like that and it could lead to the individual making the calls being disconnected.
You will really struggle to phone their service provider though without the use of a reverse phone number service as without them there is no way of knowing who they are with (unless you phone their voicemail and they haven’t changed their message then sometimes you can tell from that). So the best option is really to use one of these sites and dig up the service provider and the name and address of the person.
The police will be able to do a lot more if they already have the name and address as you have provided it, of course you should still go to the phone company too.
Then they can’t escape getting into trouble. Of course they could carry on anyway - but if you know the name of the person you at least have the upperhand and if you let them know you are aware it is them then you are no longer being a faceless victim and most people are cowards and will just stop straight away.
